A Walk – A’Chailleach  (Munro)

Start in the centre of Newtonmore (NN715992)  and walk up Glen Road towards Glen Banchor. Before the car park at NN694998  take the track N which follows the Allt a’Chaorainn. After 2km take the L  fork to ascend A’ Chailleach (930m). From the summit head SW over Geal Charn (889m)  and descend to track which follows the Allt Fionndrigh back to Glen Banchor  and the minor road to Newtonmore.

Approx.  distance:  17.5 km

Total  ascent: 720 m

B Walk – Creag  Liath (Graham)

Start  as A walk and head up minor road to car park and Glenballoch. Take the track  NW up the E side of the Allt Fionndrigh and over bridge at NH 660019 (not  marked on 1:50000 map), then turn SE and ascend ridge to Creag Liath (743m).  Continue S towards 642m point but at slight col head SE for the S end of the  forestry plantation then back to Glenballoch and Newtonmore.

Approx.  distance:  14 km

Total  ascent: 500 m

Min.  walking time: 4 hrs 30 min

C Walk – Creag  an Loin (547m)

As  A walk up Glen Road to NN694998 then follow track for 1.5km before heading E  over Creag an Loin (547m). Continue E to Allt na Feithe Buidhe then descend  to Newtonmore by one of the numerous tracks.

Approx.  distance:  8.0 km

Total  ascent: 300 m

Min.  walking time: 2 hrs 30min
