NOT VICTORIA BRIDGE

On Sunday, 26th June the club’s scheduled walk should have been to Victoria Bridge and the Black Mount near Bridge of Orchy. A combination of a significant road closure west of Killin and a worrying weather forecast for the west highland mountains, meant that the plans were changed at short notice.

As ever, JP Coaches were very accommodating, and the twelve members, plus on visitor, were soon on their way to the Pitlochry Festival Theatre car park and the start of an alternative walk to Aberfeldy along a section of the Rob Roy Way.

More of a ramble than a hill walk, the day was nevertheless enjoyed by all the party as they made their way first up the hill from Pitlochry and eventually down to the River Tay and along its bank to Aberfeldy.

Rain featured for much of the walk and the waiting coach was a welcome sight at the end of the walk.
