Ullapool – 12th to 14th May and beyond

2023 saw the club move its traditional spring trip for the bank holiday weekend to an earlier date in order to avoid this crowds and equally importantly to help 25 plus people find suitable accommodation in and around this great walking base in NW Scotland.

Traditionally this piece would have included details of each and every peak climbed and locations visited. Many members spent a full week in the area and a list of all these places would have been a very long one indeed!

Suffice it to say that the time was packed with walks, scrambles, boat trips, social events and visits to many of the outstanding places of interest that this part of the world offers.

Even the skies provided interest with low flying Typhoons seen on several occasions.

The weather was mixed but never curtailed activities, were they high or low. The generally windy conditions kept the wee biting beasties away as an added bonus.

Website blog: This piece would never attempt to report every hill/trip/visit/social gathering that the group enjoyed on what was yet another very memorable and enjoyable spring ‘weekend’

Jane Clark is beavering away to create a much fuller piece that will be included in the summer edition of Mountain Thyme, this will no doubt do full justice to our week away – something to look forward to!

The club’s next weekend away will take place in September(15th-17th), to a location in another great mountain region. This time to Onich/Inchree Centre, within easy reach of Glencoe, the Mamores and the Grey Corries.
