Walk A: Gael Charn
The route starts by crossing the Garva Bridge over the infant River Spey at NN522947. Turn right onto a track to point 523952 and cross the Allt Coire Iain Oig. Follow the track along the E side of the Feith Talagain, leaving it at a point approx. 540968 and making for the SW ridge of Geal Charn. Continue to the summit (M 926m) The return may be made by walking S then E from the bealach to the top of Beinn Sgiath (887m). Head in a SW direction to re-join the ascent route where it left the Feith Talagain then returning to the start.

Walk B: Meall na h-Aisre
The starting point is as the A walk by crossing Garva Bridge. Follow the A route for c300m but don't cross the bridge, instead keep to the W of the burn. Cross it at 522958 over a bridge. Follow the track and head towards the SE ridge of the peak over low angled grassy ground, passing a rock outcrop on the way. Climb the ridge Leathad Gaothach and over a top at 844m on the way to Meall na h-Aisre (C862m). Descend down steep grassy slopes into Coire Iain Oig picking up a path that returns to the start

Walk C: General Wade's Military Road
Start as for A & B walks, crossing the Garva Bridge but continuing in a WNW direction and following the path of the old military road towards Melgarve and beyond, return by same route.

Please note that experienced members are welcome to create their own walk should they so wish. Any applicable club rules should be followed and the route posted with the Meet Secretary on the day.

Please note that the Minimum walking times are based on reasonably fast walkers and assuming good conditions. The times do not include stops or breaks. In poor weather conditions or if members are not comfortable walking at 4km/hour then alternative or shorter routes should be considered.
The next walk is on Sunday 22nd April and is a though walk from Lochnagar to Glenshee. Coach leaves Alyth at 07.15 & Blairgowrie at 07.30am. The Club AGM is on 30th March at the Golf Club - commencing 07.00pm.
IMPORTANT : YOUR SAFETY IN THE HILLS
The Committee reminds members and guests of the following important points:
- You are responsible for your own safety
- Club officials are not trained mountain leaders
- Are you fit enough to complete your chosen walk in the available time?
- Know where you are going on the walk and follow the route on your map.
- Know how many are in your party and stay together
- Ensure you have enough food plus emergency rations
- Carry a map & compass, survival bag, torch, whistle and small first aid kit. Know how to use them.
- In winter conditions you must carry an ice axe on high level walks (club rule). You are also recommended to carry crampons.
- Learn how to use your equipment.
