Loch Garry through walk, 6th August 2107

On Sunday 6th August 18 members started walking from Dalnaspidal just off the A9 and walked southwards to Annat on the shores of Loch Rannoch.

The group split into two, one group taking the low road beside Loch Garry and following the well defined track. They then visited the recently constructed observatory near Loch Rannoch which was constructed as part of the "Dark Sky" designation for everyone interested to study the night sky. The second group climbed the Corbett Meall na Leitreach before also joining the track heading South to the finish at Loch Rannoch. There were many grouse startled by our appearance being the most prevalent wildlife spotted on the day. After a great days walk, everyone met for refreshments at the MacDonald Loch Rannoch Hotel before returning home. The photgraph taken on the summit of Meall na Leitreach our tribute to Usain Bolt!!
