Posted By at Tuesday, April 25, 2017

On Sunday (23rd April) members of the Blairgowrie and District Hillwalking Club travelled by coach to Glen Lochay on the North side of Loch Tay for a Club outing.

The weather remained dry and bright but there was a cold breeze on the tops ensuring gloves and hats were never far away. Three groups started in different directions, with the first group deciding on a low level walk commencing at the Power Station in the Glen and heading south east to Killin, The Falls of Dochart, Loch Tay and ending their walk at the Glen Lochay Hotel. The two remaining groups start at the new carpark near Kenknock Farm and ascended the "Corbett", Meall nan Subh from two different directions but ending up at the same finishing point, the Glen Lochay Hotel for refreshment. Red deer and Golden plover were noted on the hill and a few distant remaining snow patches in the distance.
