On Sunday 14th May, twenty one members of the club set off from the Spittal of Glenmuick to follow the old drove road over Capel Mounth to Glen Doll.

The weather was fine, but for a short shower which was refreshing in a way. Visibility was excellent and the cloud base well above the mountain tops, affording us great views in all directions.Eleven members followed to old route all the way to Glen Doll, however nine members left the track at its highest point to walk cross country over the hill tops of Ferrowie, Lair of Aldararie and Carn Derg and then down to the Glen Doll finishing point. Two members completed low level walks at either end of the through walk, and everyone enjoyed the day. Members encountered much wildlife on their walks including a large herd of deer, viewed at close quarters, mountain hares, buzzards, a golden eagle and much much more. As everyone was in a relaxed mood refreshments were taken at the Clova Inn on the way home.
