STMC is a London-based mountaineering club, drawing its membership from London and the home counties. The
Club was founded more than 25 years ago by a group of keen hillwalkers and climbers who saw a need for a
London-area club that was perhaps a little less technical than the established mountaineering and climbing clubs.

Scott Muir MIC Scottish and Continental Rock Ice and Mixed
Climbing Courses and Private Guiding. Scott offers mountaineering

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation "organisations" sites:
The accommodation listed below has been visited by members of the club
and is generally a centre for walking in areas of Scotland away from
Blairgowrie.

(as listed on Independant Hostels web site) - Holiday chalet, hostel and bunkhouse accommodation near Corran Ferry,
8 miles south of Fort William and 5 miles from Glencoe. Access to Glencoe,
Nevis, Mamores, Aonachs, Grey Corries, and Great Glen hills.

Excellent accommodation run by Paddy. Bar and restaurant (though check
when these are open out of main season). The hostel rooms have their own
"en-suite" loos and showers. Also has outdoor climbing wall.

The Assynt Field Centre. Just below Conival and Ben More Assynt. Near to
Quinag, Stac Pollaidh, Ben More Coigach, Lochinver Pie Shop.

- bunkhouse accommodation west of Laggan. Central to Creag Meagaidh,

Visited by club members on 27th-29th December 1999. Well
appointed accommodation run by Alan Renwick, whose hospitality extended
to digging cars out of snow. Self catering but meals provided upon
request.
