Daily information for hillwalkers about deer stalking activities.
From August to October recorded phone messages provide information about the location of deer stalking activities in various parts of the Scottish Highlands. Messages indicate where stalking is happening and which walking routes are unlikely to affect stalking as well as giving a forecast of stalking activity over the next few days. Note that there is no stalking on Sundays. Recorded messages are updated by 8 am each days and calls are charged at normal rates. It will help to have a map beside you (and paper and pencil) when you call the Hillphone. OS map numbers are listed with each Hillphone area below. Please be aware that deer stalking takes place elsewhere in the Highlands and not just in the Hillphone areas. Also, whilst the stag stalking season finishes on October 20th, the hind cull continues until February 15th. Throughout the Highlands walkers can help to minimise disturbance during the stalking season by following:
